Trend Alert: '70s Style Flared Jeans

70's style flared jeans are back in style this season! Now you may be thinking, no way am I trying this - but think about how often you wear jeans, and then think about how much a new pair of jeans could freshen up your wardrobe and reinvent your look in a fresh, new way.

I would suggest pairing a dark wash pair of '70s style flared jeans, like the GAP jeans pictured on the left, with a simpler top so you don't go overboard and turn up looking like you're wearing a flower child Halloween costume. Pair the jeans with a solid colored top and heels and you have a sleek & sophisticated look.

Since these jeans are admittedly trendy, I would recommend opting for a reasonably priced pair of '70s style jeans - although J Brand, Hudson and Vince all sell really cool jeans in this style right now (if you're willing to pay more).

Any of these jeans will have you looking totally "of the moment" and fabulous for less than $100: GAP Wide Leg Trouser jean in dark wash, Monkee Genes Denim Flared Jeans, and MOTO Indigo Denim Flared Jeans.

Will you be trying this trend?

  1. i LOVE this trend! flared jeans totally balance out girls that are curvier up top. i have been pretty psyched for this look to come back :D

  2. I love this look! I have had a pair of wide leg jean trouser for years and get compliments every time. They are very flattering!

  3. I love these also! I think you are right about buying less expensive ones. I think if you are hesitant you could always buy trouser jeans that don't look as "hippie-ish" but still have a similar look as flared.

  4. I have mixed feelings about this. I like these types of jeans because they look good on my body type...but I FINALLY embraced skinny jeans (jeggings) !! haha
