Look for Less: Chic Bar Carts

Can you believe that 2011 is almost over? This might be the fastest year of my life on record! The end of the year brings all my favorite things: cooler weather, great movies, and parties. I love throwing events as much as I love to attend them. When you entertain guests, versatile furniture is your friend. Enter the bar cart. Bar carts have made a comeback recently. These aren’t your grandmother’s bar carts. They are chic, modern, and fun! Luckily, they are offered at almost all of your favorite home accessory stores. How festive does this bar cart look?

When it comes to shopping for a bar cart, I absolutely love Society Social! They have so many options and suit any fashionista’s taste. I honestly can’t decide a favorite.
I love the “Draper” bar cart (pictured on right) in stone-colored python. It’s so sleek and it comes in trendy snakeskin. It even looks more like a normal table than a cart helping it become another piece of furniture in a space.

I also can’t get enough of the “Madison Mixer.” This option is a more traditional version. It also comes in a variety of colors. You can choose your metallic base (gold or silver) and a brightly colored cane and faux bamboo tray for the top. I am personally smitten with the gold and white. It’s so simple and chic.

If neither of these options tickle your fancy, Zgallerie and Restoration Hardware offer more rustic versions. Zgallerie’s Bordeaux Bar Cart is French-inspired and offers two removable trays.
The perfect choice for the entertainer who wants a more versatile piece and it’s under $150. Even better, the cart would easily make a gorgeous end table in your living room.

For those of you who don’t mind splurging, Restoration Hardware’s Vintage Wallpaper Factory Bar Cart is amazing. It has so much character and is a great conversation piece. What could be better when entertaining?

If you are drawn to the retro bar cart, a visit to your favorite vintage furniture boutique may have just what you’re looking for. If that isn’t an option for you, 1stdibs.com is my favorite online vintage marketplace. You will surely find a one-of-a-kind retro bar cart that any Mad Men would love.
