Couture Column: Chanel

The twice-a-year haute couture shows in Paris are always beyond exquisite and the Fall 2012 Haute Couture Chanel show was no different. Karl Lagerfeld threw a beautiful garden party in Paris’s Grand Palais complete with white wicker chairs, gardenias, and macaroons.

While the setting was grand, it was the gorgeous clothing complete with intricate details and a classically “coco” color palette that took my breath away. Inspired by the theme “new vintage”, the collection paid homage to Chanel’s design history by incorporating her classic pieces (i.e. the tweed jacket) but adding stunning  twists to make them modern.
